NEW YORK Crispin Porter + Bogusky took home best of show honors at the 2004 Athena Awards for a Borders ad execution that inserted wrapping paper into newspapers.

The Miami shop’s “Book Wrapping Paper” ad also contained copy that described the pleasures of receiving a book as a present. The Newspaper Association of America, which sponsors the Athena Awards, will make a donation in the grand prize-winning agency’s name to a fund that has been set up for a new newspaper advertising course at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Adcenter.
