COORS BACKS FIRST WOMEN'S BASEBALL TEAM



Coors Brewing Co. announced last week it was sponsoring the first all-female Minor League Baseball team that will appropriately be named the Co

The team was officially recognized last week by the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues. The Silver Bullets are a business unit of Whittle Sports Properties, Knoxville, Tenn.
The team will play a schedule of at least 30 exhibition games against professional Minor League teams in 1994. As sponsor, Coors Light will support the team through promotional and merchandising campaigns designed to raise consumer awareness of the team.
Phil Niekro, who is eligible for induction to the Hall of Fame next year, has signed on as manager.
