You could have spent all last week reading about the decline of consumer confidence. On Monday, the University of Michigan announced that its index had fallen to the lowest level since 1993. Not to be outdone, the Conference Board declared on Tuesday that its measure of confidence had fallen to the lowest level since 1993. Adding to the general cheer, an ABCNews/Money poll found the lowest percentage of Americans since 1995 saying their finances are good.
