NEW YORK Two years after signing a deal to deploy TiVo’s digital-video recorder software across its cable systems, Comcast is preparing launch the service in Boston and a number of secondary New England markets in August.

A commercial launch plan is set for August. At that point, the service would go live throughout the metro Boston area, as well as in Comcast’s southeast Massachusetts and New Hampshire markets.
