Media company StarLink, a division of Starcom MediaVest Group, has promoted Karen Coleman to national broadcast investment director, a new position. In the post, Coleman will manage the Chicago agency's investment group, while expanding StarLink's reputation among broadcast sales operations. She also will represent the agency at industry boards and conferences. Coleman began her career in Leo Burnett's media department, which eventually became Starcom, in 1985. She held positions as a buyer and planner before being promoted to assistant media director in 1992. Prior to joining StarLink in 2003, Coleman was at Starcom Los Angeles, working on the Disney Studios account. She has a bachelor's degree in advertising from the University of Illinois.
