ATLANTA Despite a strong second quarter with net income up 9 percent to $1.7 billion, top executives at Coca-Cola said they continue to look for the kind of advertising that once defined the company.

In response to a question from an analyst about Coca-Cola’s advertising during a conference call last week, Neville Isdell, the Atlanta-based company’s chairman and CEO, said Coke is looking for “iconic advertising” that can promote the brand worldwide. Such campaigns could replace some of the local work ad agencies create for the company, he said.
