BOSTON Grey Global Group's GCI has hired Jennifer Cohan as president of GCI New York, the agency said.

"The diversity of her public relations experience, as well as her passion for the business and engaging demeanor, is the right fit for our New York office," said Bob Feldman, president and chief executive of GCI Group. "With strong practice leadership in place, we were looking for someone who could leverage all resources for our clients, help drive business and contribute to the cultural success of the firm."

Cohan replaces Tom Reno, who left New York-based GCI, Grey's public relations arm, in April to join WPP Group's Hill & Knowlton as general manager of its New York office [Adweek, April 12].

Prior to GCI, Cohan was a senior executive at WPP's Cohn & Wolfe. She spent 10 years there in a variety of roles, including vp for the New York consumer practice and new business director. Cohan's most recent position was deputy managing director in the firm's London office. She has worked with clients such as U.S. Postal Service, Avon and Procter & Gamble.

"I was attracted to GCI because of the firm's commitment to its clients, the PR industry and [the shop's] talented network of employees," said Cohan in a statement.
