NEW YORK The nation’s two largest radio companies are locked in a legal battle over indecency.

Clear Channel Communications on Wednesday said it filed a $3-10 million countersuit in a New York federal court against bawdy on-air host Howard Stern and Viacom’s Infinity Broadcasting, claiming Stern breached his contract by broadcasting indecent programming, said a source.

But Infinity and Stern’s One Twelve company claim it is Clear Channel that’s in breach of contract. Late last month, Stern and Infinity filed a $10 million suit against Clear Channel, which abruptly pulled Stern from six of its stations in February.
