CHICAGO Cramer-Krasselt has acquired Nichol & Co., a New York public relations firm that will be folded into the Chicago-based shop’s CKPR unit and provide it with the East Coast presence it has long sought, the agency said.

The New York shop will be renamed Nichol-CKPR, and CEO Betsy Nichol will report to Joel Curran, managing director of CKPR. Nichol claimed revenue of $1.4 million and a staff of 11 in 2002, according to the Council of Public Relations Firms.
