DETROIT Citgo Oil’s latest campaign, aimed at branding the oil company as a strong and charitable American business, will break this week with a 30-second broadcast spot and a print ad, company officials said.

The new creative, via Barkley in Kansas City, Mo., comes on the heels of full-page “public statement” ads that ran last week in several daily newspapers.

The new ads promote Citgo’s community involvement, heritage and corporate largesse. The company spends about $15 million annually in measured media, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
