Restaurant chain Church’s Chicken last week selected The Cartel Group to handle creative duties on its $10-15 million account, the client said. The San Antonio shop bested finalists Mirror, a subsidiary of Levenson & Hill in Dallas, and a team made up of independent shops Fuse in St. Louis, LatinWorks in Austin, Texas, and MDC-backed Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners in San Francisco. Church’s has been working with shops on a project basis since splitting with now-shuttered Omnicom agency BaylessCronin in Atlanta last year.
