Merkley Newman Harty & Partners this week is rebranding itself as Merkley + Partners and amending the titles of its top executives to better reflect who’s in charge at the shop.

Although co-founder Parry Merkley’s name remains on the door, the 52-year-old executive has stepped away from day-to-day operations and today becomes chairman emeritus.

The $600 million Omnicom Group agency is led by four principals: Alex Gellert, Andy Hirsch, Randy Saitta and Douglas Atkin. Gellert, 39, a veteran account hand who followed the Mercedes business from Lowe to Merkley in March 1999, rises from managing partner to CEO.
