CHICAGO Cendant Travel Distributions Services has named former Leo Burnett and McDonald's marketing executive Randy Wagner chief marketing officer of consumer travel for its Americas division, overseeing marketing for brands like Orbitz and CheapTickets.com.
"We are pleased to have Randy join our team and confident she will lead the development of a strong brand portfolio for Orbitz," said Mitch Truwit, CTDS' president and CEO in a statement "She has a proven track record of building some of the world's great consumer brands."
Wagner was most recently a corporate vice president of strategic global marketing for McDonald's. Prior to joining the fast-food company, she was an international account director on the McDonald's business for Leo Burnett in Chicago.
Orbitz spent nearly $25 million on advertising last year, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus, while CheapTickets spent $15 million.
WPP Group's Young & Rubicam in Chicago is Orbitz' current agency. CheapTickets.com's last known agency was JWT in San Francisco.
