ATLANTA Hispanic Yellow Pages Network, an independent publisher of Spanish-language telephone directories, said it has acquired Casablanca Publishing and its directories in Atlanta and North Georgia.

The Boston-based company now publishes 10 directories in the Southeast and Texas, including Tampa and Orlando, Fla., Dallas and Houston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The company plans to launch new publications in Phoenix and San Antonio later this year.

"Acquiring Casablanca Publishing is a logical step in the development of our national network of directories," said Patrice Listfield, chief executive officer of HYPN. "We are very happy with this acquisition as it will allow us to build upon our vision to serve markets with a significant and growing Hispanic population and strong economic development."

Zaida Gonzalez and Julio Garriga, the husband and wife team that started Casablanca 17 years ago, will continue to manage the publication in Atlanta and North Georgia.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

ABRY Partners, a private equity firm in Boston, formed HYPN in 2003.
