With its reputation for well-written print ads, Carmichael Lynch has a wealth of copywriters in top creative posts —but the mix is about to change a bit.

Chairman Jack Supple and his successor as chief creative officer, Peter McHugh, are both copywriters, as is executive creative director Jim Nelson. But in his first major hire, McHugh has tapped Andy Clarke, an art director and creative director at Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi in London. Clarke, 40, expects to start work at CL in Minneapolis in May as executive creative director/ head of art.
