DALLAS The Richards Group has promoted Stephen Cannon to principal in charge of its Hyundai dealer advertising business.

Cannon, who joined the independent Dallas agency in 2002, becomes Richards’ 22nd principal.

Cannon, a West Point graduate, served five years as an Army officer before going to work for Mercedes-Benz North America. His Mercedes post took him to Stuttgart, Germany, where he was part of the team that developed and launched the M-Class, Mercedes’ entry into the sport utility vehicle market.
