The processors, represented collectively by The California Fluid Milk Processor Advisory Board, have milked the coffers to come up with a $20-million ad budget and are now looking for an ad agency.
While McCann-Erickson/S.F. currently handles the successful and long-running fluid milk portion of the California Milk Advisory Board’s $15-million advertising campaign, representing dairy farmers, the milk processors’ budget has been set up to generate additional ad dollars that hone in on the milk message.
‘The California Milk Advisory Board handles all milk products (including cheese and butter),’ explained Linda Maley, spokesperson for the Fluid Milk Processors. ‘The processors who handle milk want the main advertising focus on milk.’
The search will be open to all California-based agencies or agencies with established offices in the state, with annual billings of at least $40 million. Capabilities questionnaires, available from the board, must be returned by April 30.
As the Fluid Milk Advisory Board is just establishing an office, requests for questionnaires must be mailed to: Agency Review Committee, California Fluid Milk Processor Advisory Board, 915 L Street, #C437, Sacramento, Calif. 95814.
