NEW YORK Cafe de Columbia, the Federation of Columbian Coffee Growers, has extended the deadline in the review for its $9 million advertising account to May 23. The deadline was originally set for today.

"We are extending the deadline for the review because the proposals we received were just so well done," said Mary Pettit, spokesperson for the organization. Pettit would not comment further on the review.

The extension slows what was initially a quick-paced review. The organization's deadline for the return of requests for credentials was April 21. According to the form, the group notified finalists April 25 and held credentials meetings last week, sources said.

The client is looking for an agency with national beverage experience and a track record of marketing to 18-35 year olds, the request stated. Several small and midsize New York shops are among as many as eight agencies competing, sources said.
