The Pennsylvania Department of Health’s new outdoor campaign uses some of the duo’s favorite expressions to discourage kids from smoking.
Three executions from the Harrisburg-based Neiman Group juxtapose stark, scrawled phrases with darkly humorous photographs: “Butt Head” (in which a young man’s head morphs into the stamped-out tip of a cigarette), “Butt Munch” (nicotine-stained teeth clamped on a filter tip) and “Butt Ugly” (shown here; a sneering, frumpy model puffs away).
The work, which targets 9-to-14-year-olds, broke last week statewide on more than 400 billboards previously occupied by the Marlboro Man and Joe Camel.
