DALLAS While some people read tea leaves to predict the outcome of a presidential election, others look at coffee cups.

At Dallas-based convenience-store chain 7-Eleven, the results of a “7-Election” based on the sale of coffee in cups bearing the images of the candidates proved as close as the polls leading up to Election Day.

While the coffee cup sales were statistically a dead heat, the cups bearing the image of President Bush slightly outsold those bearing Sen.
