With Dave Thomasof Wendy’s recently deceased, another fast-food mogul has stepped before the television camera to promote his own hamburgers.

Whataburger CEO Tom Dobson, son of founder Harmon Dobson, will appear in a new TV spot for the chain. The ad will air exclusively in Arizona beginning in February.

Created by Whataburger’s agency, Square One of Dallas, the commercialpresents a sincere testimonial by Dobson (pictured below)about the restaurant’s commitment to its customers. Its launch, along with a 60-second radio version, follows the makeover of 38 former franchise-owned locations in the state.

The TV ad also marks the first time a Dobson family member has appeared in the company’s advertising.

“I felt it was important for me to personally tell the people of Arizona we heard their concerns and are committed at every level to delivering a quality dining experience,” Dobson said.

Corpus Christi, Texas-based Whataburger is the nation’s eighth-largest hamburger chain.
