NEW YORK Bristol-Myers Squibb is talking to six shops about handling creative chores for its Plavix blood-thinning drug, according to sources.

WPP Group’s Ogilvy & Mather in New York said it resigned the business last month.

Representatives for BMS, which co-markets Plavix with Sanofi-Synthelabo, declined to comment. The client spent $63 million on ads for Plavix through October 2003, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.

Agencies that are participating in the review include Omnicom Group’s DDB, Grey Global Group’s Grey, Havas’ Euro RSCG MVBMS Partners, Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi Healthcare and Health@JWT, a unit of WPP’s J.
