I know it worked for Budweiser, but does frog humor have a place in jewelry advertising? It’d be nice to think so, since this ad is far more entertaining than the vapid stuff one often finds in its category. But one wonders whether it gives target readers credit for a better sense of humor than they’ve got. People spend princely sums on jewelry because they take the fairy-tale fantasies seriously, not because they find such longings comical.
