In a joint venture among three airlines–American, Delta, and United–Boeing on Wednesday announced a new business venture that will bring broadband Internet access to millions of airline passengers. The venture, called Connexion by Boeing, will equip 1,500 aircraft with Internet connectivity, starting in the second half of 2002.

“It will take this kind of collaboration to bring a high-quality service to the airline passenger and the entire marketplace,” said Scott Carson, who has been named president of the company.
