ATLANTA The Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation said it is searching for an interactive agency.

About 10 shops responded to requests for proposals issued in December by the Alexandria, Va.-based nonprofit organization.

The Richards Group in Dallas handles the group's general advertising account. Its interactive unit, Click Here, will participate in the mandated review, the client said.

Jennifer Wulff, program manager, declined to name the other contenders, but said she expects to cut to a shortlist this week.

"It's a pretty comprehensive project," Wulff said. "We need an agency with a strong back end and online marketing experience. This is a national site."

Wulff said the RBFF has been collecting data useful to recreational boaters and fishermen and wants the interactive agency to pull that material together. "We want to be able to make stronger relationships among the data to make it regional specific," she said. That information includes data on bodies of water, boat ramps, marinas, facilities, fish species, and state rules and regulations.

The group's objective is to make the site, www.waterworkswonder.org, complement the aesthetics of advertising developed by Richards, she said. A new creative campaign is expected to launch in April.

A decision is expected Jan. 30. The budget is undetermined.

The Richards Group won the organization's estimated $6 million general advertising account in June 2000.
