Advertising giants Coca-Cola, Unilever, Tricon, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Nabisco are partnering with New York-based Intermedia Advertising Group in a bid to develop software and technology that make TV advertising more effective.

The corporate “Charter Partners” were revealed as the company announced it has received $6.5 million in a second round of funding from media, finance and advertising companies, including WPP.

The marketing giants have joined the movement because of their concern that audience fragmentation, ad clutter and other factors are draining the power from their most important and costly ad medium.
