Shortly after his arrival in London in 1998, Steve Blamer re-organized the 350-person shop into color-coded “agencies” within the agency–Grey Green, Grey Blue, Grey Red, etc. Each were housed on a different floor and headed by a trio from the creative, planning and account management disciplines. The structure was meant to provide the kind of attentive service clients enjoy from boutique-style shops, while having the network’s global resources at their disposal.
After each floor was painted the appropriate color, Blamer, 44, threw a party to celebrate.
