CHICAGO Writers from Simons Michelson Zieve Advertising have won the International Broadcasters Association’s 2002 world’s best radio commercial competition.

Senior copywriter, producer Eric Head and senior writer Ken Langridge, along with their partner, Greg Roy, wrote the commercial to promote Turner Broadcasting System’s nonstop comedy block, executives from the Troy, Mich., shop said.

The commercial, titled “Blame TBS,” is a satire of how Canada took over the United States while people were distracted by the cable TV network’s comedies.
