G&M Plumbing has sold a grand total of zero coffee mugs from its Web site, www.gmplumbing.com. Mickey Taylor, a guy who has spent virtually all his adult life trying to sell things, admits the price tag of $99 is probably the reason. Still, he says, what's more important than selling some silly mug is maintaining the climate of absurdity that has been the agency's driving force since he founded it two years ago with Glenn Miller.

When Taylor was asked for a description of G&M for a Web site listing Los Angeles ad agencies (www.losangelesadagencies.com), he submitted this: "blah, blah, blah, blah, synergy, blah, blah, blah, blah, integrated marketing communications, blah, blah, blah, blah, strategic brand planning, blah, blah, blah, blah, breakthrough creative, blah, blah, blah, blah, global resources, blah, blah, blah, blah. (The work should speak for itself.)"

"Everyone knows ad agencies are full of shit," says the ex-TBWA\Chiat\Day creative. "If you're a client and you see this description, then at least you know you are dealing with people who have a sense of humor."

The blurb has driven extra traffic to G&M's site, where visitors can peruse pages devoted to "Current G&M hockey standings" and "What's in our fridge." "The most visited page is the one with the pictures of monkeys," says Taylor, adding that he stole the images from another site.
