SAN FRANCISCO -- Carisa Bianchi, former president of TBWA\Chiat\Day's office here, has been named chief strategic officer for the agency in both Los Angeles and San Francisco, the agency said Monday.
In her new role, Bianchi, 42, will head business development and cultivate relationships with prospective clients and help lead the account planning and strategy divisions, among other duties.
"We are very pleased to have Carisa back in the Los Angeles office to help provide strategic guidance and help us garner new business," said Robert LePlae, president of TBWA\Chiat\Day West, in a statement. "Carisa not only possesses passion, intelligence, and a strong creative sense, she has also demonstrated strong strategic leadership."
Bianchi first joined TBWA\C\Din Los Angeles in 1989, where she worked with clients such as Energizer Batteries and Sony PlayStation.
In 1998, she became managing director of the re-opened TBWA\C\D office in San Francisco, and was named president in 1999. She served in that role until earlier this year when the office downsized after the loss of the $60 million Levi's account.
"I am excited to be back in Los Angeles with Robert LePlae and of course, working more closely with Lee Clow," Bianchi said. "Anyone who has ever worked early in their career in the Los Angeles office dreams of one day being a member of the leadership here."
