NEW YORK WPP Group’s Red Cell has named Andy Berlin chief executive of the agency network, the holding company confirmed on Friday.

Berlin, 53, had been co-CEO with London-based Lee Daley, who is leaving Red Cell. No date for his exit has been determined, but Daley will manage the transition, the company said.

Daley, 41, decided to leave after failing to come to a compensation agreement with WPP chairman and CEO Martin Sorrell, sources said. Daley was seeking a larger compensation package in recent months commensurate with his expanded responsibilities overseeing a network that has nearly doubled to 60 agencies worldwide in the past two years, sources said.
