LOS ANGELES Director Henrik Hansen recalls the wonder of boyhood in his latest commercial for Mercedes-Benz that broke last week.

The black-and-white, 30-second “Candy Store” shows a close-up face of a boy turning in slow-motion awe. An intertitle reads, “When was the last time you felt like a kid in a candy store?” and dissolves to a man’s face, with much the same expression. The shot widens to reveal that the man is in a Mercedes dealership watching various models spin on their carousels, unable to focus on one before he’s distracted by another.
