Imports, Reassigns Media, Account Bosses
ATLANTA--A surging BBDO South made a pair of executive additions and subtractions last week, one at the expense of Fitzgerald & Company here.
Fitzgerald's highly regarded chief media officer, Nik Mainthia, 46, has been tapped to take over BBDO South's media department, supplanting Allen Ginsberg. According to BBDO South president and chief executive officer Chris Hall, Ginsberg will now handle "special projects, not client or media related . . . more agency management issues."
Hall said senior vice president and account director Jim Garrison will leave the Atlanta agency, replaced by Shari Dennis, 40, from The Buntin Group in Nashville, Tenn. Dennis will be executive vice president and management director, overseeing the realestate.com, HUD and Iberia Airline accounts. Both she and Mainthia join BBDO's executive board Jan. 31.
Fitzgerald principal Dave Fitzgerald would not comment on hiring a replacement. Main-thia said there was "no one really to that level [at the company] . . . I think they will have to go out[side the company], maybe outside the market."
Mainthia returns to BBDO, where he worked from 1991 to 1996 on media planning for Delta, Hardee's and Dodge dealerships. K
