NEW YORK Omnicom Group’s BBDO has withdrawn from Samsung’s estimated $400 million global account review because agency executives were concerned about having to split duties with the client’s in-house marketing arm, Cheil Communications, sources said.

The shop notified the Samsung client of its decision on May 13, a source said. The move comes nearly three weeks after the Seoul, South Korea-based client briefed agencies in New York.

That leaves the incumbent, Interpublic Group’s Foote Cone & Belding, to square off against WPP Group’s J.Walter
