Moffatt/Rosenthal is jumping on the bandwagon to bring Major League Baseball to Oregon.
The Portland, Ore.-based shop ran a full-page ad in the sports section of The Oregonian on March 30, baseball’s opening day, to generate support among readers for bringing a major league team to town.
The ad features a vintage photo of enthusiastic fans at a Portland Beavers baseball game circa 1936. The headline: “And they say Portland’s not a religious town.”
It was also an opportunity for the shop to raise its profile in the community and “get in the face” of new business prospects, according to agency principal Al Moffatt.
The ad, which included the agency’s phone number, drew more than 500 phone calls in just two days from citizens seeking bumper stickers.
