Bates Churchill Advertising, a unit of Bates Southwest in Houston, has been designated agency of record for Chevron Chemicals’ Oronite division.
Billings were undisclosed. Bates has been assigned global communications work, including market research, corporate branding, advertising, relationship marketing and media relations. The agency will work with the Bates network to satisfy the worldwide reach required by the client.
The company is planning to relocate its business from San Ramon, Calif., to Houston in the third quarter of this year.
“Bates is the ideal choice for us because of the firm’s alignment with our regional offices in Houston, Paris and Singapore; its strength in business-to-business marketing and advertising, and its proven command of the international arena,” said Michael Boykin, global marketing communications manager for Oronite, in a statement released to Adweek.
Oronite manufactures more than 400 different finished lubricant and fuel additive products worldwide, according to the company.
