Last week, as the media fixated on Chrysler’s 13,000 job cuts on the heels of GM’s suicidal robot spot being pulled for retooling, Volkswagen launched an ad with, yes, a suicide theme.

You can’t make this stuff up.

Sure, “Jumper,” one of a trio of new dealer ads with the tagline, “Three V-Dubs for under $17,000,” was in the works way before GM’s highly emotive robot took the Super Bowl stage with his achy-breaky heart and caused suicide prevention groups to mobilize.
