CHICAGO The Auto Club Group, a consortium of six American Automobile Associations in the Midwest, has put its advertising account into review, a client representative confirmed.
The Dearborn, Mich., client has contracted Boston consultant Pile and Co. to handle the search. Independent agency Chicago Creative Partnership has held the account since February 2004. It was not immediately known if the shop intended to defend the business.
In March of this year, agency president and chief creative officer Kevin Houlihan and client services director Brad Most left the Chicago shop to start their own venture. Their departures were directly related to another client, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and Texas, moving its account from the agency. That client is expected to begin a review this fall [Adweek Online, March 29].
The Auto Club Group represents AAA clubs in eight states: Illinois, northern Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin. Account billings could not be immediately determined.
