The Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts will be the venue of choice to more than 200 Central Texas cultural organizations when it opens in Austin, Texas, in 2005. In the near term, however, it needs $60 million to startconstruction.

The community-funded center hired Austin’s Kolar Advertising & Marketing at a “nonprofit rate” to create a fund-raising campaign. Kolar, in turn, sought help from generous local partners.

Its request was answered. Services valued at $200,000 were donated either at cost or in-kind to create a 30-second television spot, a series of print ads, and TV and radio PSAs.

Among those that helped: Dennis Fagan Studios, 501 Post, Tequila Mockingbird, and Xopix Productions, all of Austin.
