Ken Umansky has been named president of Arnold Worldwide’s operations in McLean, Va.

Along with guiding the 150-person office and overseeing a satellite in Richmond, Va., Umansky will continue to run Arnold’s tech group at the shop’s Boston headquarters.

The group’s clients include telecom conglomerate Alcatel, EMC Corp. and Mirror Image Internet. Umansky played a key role in attracting those accounts.

“My wife is from the Virginia area,” Umansky said. “We had a house here. So, when Rick [Britton] decided to retire, I was the logical choice.”
