Arc, Arnold Take Top Honors at WebAwards

NEW YORK Arc Worldwide won best for show today at the eighth annual WebAward Competition for Behr Paint Interactive, a Web site that lets consumers visualize their design ideas and get color recommendations before purchasing paint.

The effort (www.behr.com/behrx/) from the Chicago-based Publicis Groupe marketing services agency also was designated best interactive services Web site.

The WebAwards, produced by the Web Marketing Association, recognizes excellence in Web site development based on design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, navigation and ease of use. More than 1,300 entries from 19 countries were considered this year.

Arnold was named agency of the year, earning 13 awards, more than any other entrant. The Boston-based Havas agency received accolades for various Web sites for Volkswagen and the American Legacy Foundation's national "Truth" anti-smoking campaign.

Last year, Disney Online won best of show for Hot Shot Business, a fast-paced simulation game aimed at 9- to 12-year-old budding entrepreneurs. Fry Inc. earned agency of the year honors for taking home 17 awards. This year, the Ann Arbor-based shop claimed 12.
