BOSTON Via has hired Chuck Alexander as media director, a new position at the independent agency.
"Chuck brings in-depth media analysis ... to our already strong team," said Rich Rico, chief culture officer at Via in Portland, Maine. "He also understands the business objectives of the client and marries that with [a deep] understanding of our creative team." At Via, Alexander is responsible for all print and broadcast planning and buying for the agency.
Prior to Via, Alexander spent three years as associate media director at Interpublic Group's Mullen in Wenham, Mass. Before Mullen, he worked in the media department of WPP Group's Young & Rubicam.
Separately, Via has hired Mary Hanifin as director of creative services, also a new position. Hanifin will oversee broadcast, production, art buying, traffic and studio operations for the agency. Prior to Via, Hanifin was an executive producer at Element Productions in Boston. She has also served at Modernista! in Boston.
Via's client roster includes American Skiing Co., Banknorth and Raytheon.
