DETROIT – If there was a question about executive succession at Lintas:Campbell-Ewald, it was answered last week when Chevrolet account head Anthony Hopp was named president, putting the 48-year old executive in line to succeed chairman and chief executive officer Richard O’Connor, 61.
Also changing titles last week were president and chief operating officer Peter Dow, 59, who becomes vice chairman-chief operating officer, and Michael Ryan, 38, moving from group account supervisor on Chevy trucks to evp-account director on the whole Chevy account.
In naming Hopp to the new post, O’Connor said, ‘He (Hopp) is well equipped to lead the agency into the 21st century.’
Dow’s responsibilities have been focused on growing the non-Chevy side of the agency, particularly the growth of the Los Angeles office, which now bills $100 million.
But Chevrolet pays the rent.
