LOS ANGELES Changes in the corporate structure at the former Vinton Studios will mean an expansion of the firm’s commercial production enterprises, said the advertising division president.

Renamed Laika, the Portland, Ore.-based animation studio will add as many as 10 new directors to the roster, said Paul Golden. The commercial division (House) will work side by side with the studio’s new music video, short film and motion picture projects (Entertainment). Animator Henry Selick (Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach) will direct two projects at Laika, including Coraline.
