Maybe you didn’t care what Jennifer Lopez wore to the Academy awards, but enough Web surfers did that eOnline.com–the Web affiliate of E! Entertainment Television–can safely win an award for biggest traffic spike to a Web site the week of the Academy Awards.

According to Milpitas, Calif.-based Nielsen NetRatings, traffic to the entertainment site surged 160 percent, to 1.5 million unique users for the week ending April 1. Most users clicked onto the site to get to the celebrity pages, of which the Lopez page received almost twice as many users as its nearest competitor, actress Penelope Cruz’s page.
