NEW YORK Playing off of growing consumer consciousness of carbohydrate intake, Amstel Light is launching an attack against ultra low-carb beers in a new online campaign.

The imported light beer brand, a part of Heineken USA, this week introduced a micro-site, www.2pretzels.com, to illustrate the difference between Amstel Light and low-carb alternatives.

The difference, the Web site proclaims, is 2.4 carbohydrates, or the equivalent of two pretzel nuggets. A 12-ounce bottle of Amstel Light has 5 carbohydrates; the new low-carb entries have 2.6.
