Allyn to Sell Ideas via VGM

DALLAS Texas consultant Rob Allyn will co-chair a new international political and advocacy campaign group called Vox Global Mandate created by Fleishman-Hillard, the company said.

Allyn, whose Dallas-based Allyn & Company has developed political campaigns and advertising for clients ranging from the Dallas Cowboys to Mexican President Vicente Fox, will be one of five co-chairs of the new group. Omnicom Group's Fleishman-Hillard is the parent corporation of Allyn & Company.

Other VGM co-chairs will be: Kevin Bell, Fleishman-Hillard's regional director for the United Kingdom and South Africa and strategist and adviser to the Conservative Party of Great Britain; Democratic media consultant Jim Margolis of GMMB in Washington; and Republican political pollster and consultant Kieran Mahoney of Mercury Public Affairs in New York, the agency said.

"Elections, regulation and policy shape the new global economy where selling ideas is more powerful than selling products," Allyn said. "Building on the successes we have had internationally, Vox Global Mandate can help clients shape issues in the global democracy."

With headquarters in Washington and London, VGM will combine the resources of Fleishman-Hillard's GMMB, Allyn & Company and Mercury Public Affairs, the agency said.

Among the campaigns the agencies have worked on were the Clinton, Bush and Kerry races for the White House; Presidents Fox of Mexico, Nelson Mandela of South Africa and Valclav Havel of the Czech Republic; and Prime Minister Perry Christie of the Bahamas.

The agencies have produced TV, print and outdoor advertising, media consulting, debate preparation, speechwriting and polling projects in South Korea, Great Britain, Japan, Indonesia, Mongolia, Panama, Argentina, El Salvador, Chile, the Philippines, Canada, the former Yugoslavia and the Middle East, according to Fleishman-Hillard.
