AKQA, the newly formed agency here that is comprised of the former Citron Haligman Bedecarré and several mar keting and Internet firms, is kicking off its first ad effort—the second round of work on the $70 million Palm account.

In keeping with the agency’s goal of enhancing traditional advertising with integrated marketing, the campaign is based around a guerrilla effort in New York. Some 100 phone kiosks in Manhattan are getting special ads that are equipped to send infrared signals that “beam” games and applications directly to Palm users standing nearby.
