FLORIDA First Coast Oncology in Jacksonville has placed its advertising account with crosstown agency Comer Communications. The agency will provide advertising and public relations. The Advertising Club of the Palm Beaches has selected Jean M. Kelly as the 1997 recipient of its Silver Medal Award. Kelly is president/chief executive officer of Alliance Marketing in Singer Island. Gilbert & Manjura Marketing in Longwood has been elected to the American Association of Advertising Agencies. GOLD & Associates in Ponte Vedra Beach has received four Silver Microphone National Finalists Awards. The agency was cited for its work with the American Broadcasting Co., the American Lung Association, The Kennel Clubs and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Venue Advertising of Riviera Beach has won gold and silver Florida Achievement in Marketing Excellence awards from the Building Industry Association of South Florida. The agency won for its work on BallenIsles Country Club. Audio Visual Innovations has selected Mueller/Baisden Advertising in Tampa to plan, create and place its national consumer and trade advertising. AVI, also in Tampa, is a distributor of LCD projectors. Tampa Greyhound Racetrack has retained Ausec & Cheney Group in Tampa as agency of record for its $250,000 account. The South Florida Fair and Palm Beach County Expositions has picked Green Advertising of Boca Raton to handle advertising and marketing. GEORGIA Ad Babies in Atlanta has recently added two clients its roster; Return to Eden Vegetarian Supermarket and Cardio Theater, a division of Australian Bodyworks. Atlanta's Pringle Dixon Pringle has been awarded the advertising account of The National Science Center. Hands On Atlanta has selected Idea Associates in Atlanta to implement its first-ever comprehensive advertising campaign. The account will be handled on a pro-bono basis. AirTouch Cellular and the Georgia Division of Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp. have recently picked The Newsletter Factory and its Publication Studio subsidiary, both in Atlanta, to provide editorial, design, publishing and support services. NORTH CAROLINA BOLT in Charlotte has been hired by Phillips-Van Heusen to design store fixtures, environmental graphics and promotional items for its 1997/98 product line. The Zimmerman Group in Durham has produced advertising, direct mail and corporate identity materials for Rapid-Mask from DuPont. Sterrett Dymond Stewart Advertising in Charlotte won three Telly Awards in the 18th national competition. The agency won for its work with Rowan Regional Medical Center and the Bank of Mecklenburg. Turner Marketing Systems in Charlotte recently created a new division, TMS Direct. The latter handles database management, direct mail, enhancement, list service, mapping and modeling. Cadmus Direct on Charlotte has published The Loyalty Marketing Workbook to help marketers develop strategies and programs to improve business retention and increase market share. SOUTH CAROLINA The Bosworth Group in Charleston has been named a national winner in the Silver Microphone competition. The agency won three awards for its work with Palmetto Plastic Surgery, and Berlins for Women. A television commercial created for Piggly Wiggly Carolina by Rawle Murdy Associates in Charleston garnered the agency a Telly Award. TENNESSEE Notch/Bradley in Chattanooga has been picked by Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, N.C., Quantum Imaging and Therapeutics in York, Pa., and Derry Medical Center in Derry, N.H., for marketing, communications and strategic planning support services. VIRGINIA Geddings Communications in Reston, Va., has been selected by the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses for a research project. Reed Advertising & Marketing of Richmond has created a new logo for the new Wildlife Foundation of Virginia. Loudon County Economic Development has awarded its marketing communications contract to Rainmaker Creative Thinking, Leesburg, Va. Martin Public Relations in Richmond has been named by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership as public relations agency of record. Telmark in Richmond has been selected to handle AMF Bowling Worldwide's yellow page advertising. Telmark is a subsidiary of The Martin Agency. Opus Event Marketing in Richmond has signed three new clients: the Dallas Market Center, White Oak Semiconductor and The Poe Museum.
