ARIZONA The Phoenix office of Cramer-Krasselt created a TV campaign for the Arizona Republic. COLORADO Morey Mahoney Advertising, Denver, acquired three new accounts: OneMediaPlace, Jato Communications and Avenew.com. TDA Advertising & Design, Boulder, led the way with five golds and six silvers at the annual Art Directors Club of Denver awards show. Thomas & Perkins Advertising, Denver, was named agency of record for Johnny Carino's, a restaurant chain. Barnhart/CMI, Denver, added four new accounts: Chateau Communities, SunBorne, Life-Link International and Trebark Camouflage. HAWAII Walter Wanger, creative director at Milici Valenti Ng Pack in Honolulu, was honored as Advertising Man of the Year at the Honolulu Advertising Federation's Pele Awards ceremony. The agency received a total of 26 awards, including three Peles, 11 citations of excellence and 12 citations of merit. NEVADA The Acton Group chose Hands Ink Advertising, Las Vegas, as its agency. Quillin & Co., Las Vegas, was tapped by Encore Productions for ad work. Kruse & Parker, Las Vegas, changed its name to KPS/3 to reflect the addition of an e-division and Casey Strachan as managing partner. Trahan, Burden & Charles, Reno, was tapped to create a campaign for the tri-property resort of the Eldorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus hotels/casinos. NORTHERN CALIFORNIA Grant, Scott & Hurley, San Francisco, created a pro bono print campaign for the Marine Mammal Center. Rathje Chadwick & Co. was tapped by Snapfish.com for ad duties. Seidel O'Neil & Partners, San Francisco, created a TV campaign for Storehouse Furniture. OREGON Portland-based Livengood & Co. has changed its name to Livengood/Nowack. Sheldon Manufacturing named Coates Kokes in Portland as its agency of record. Tyee Euro RSCG, Portland, created a long-form advertisement for Gazoontite.com. Johnstone Supply tapped Koopman Ostbo, Portland, as its agency of record. The agency has expanded its office space to accommodate recent hires and anticipated growth. Obie Media Corp., Eugene, created a campaign for the National Highway Safety Council in St. Louis to promote the use of seat belts. The agency also renewed contracts with the Sacramento (Calif.) Regional Transit District and the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority in Austin, Texas. Young & Roehr Group, Portland, was named agency of record for the Portland Oregon Visitors Association/Oregon Convention Center. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA yU + co, Hollywood, expanded to become a full-service design, production and post-production studio. The Young Co., Santa Monica, was selected by Abex Display Systems of North Hollywood to handle its marketing communications campaigns. The agency was also tapped by GemConnect.com for ad work. Additionally, the agency joined BBN Ltd. of Macclesfield, Cheshire, U.K., as an independent partner agency. The San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau launched its "San Diego Art + Sol" campaign. The Advertising Arts College, La Mesa, has changed its name to the Art Institute of California. Di Zinno-Thompson Integrated Marketing Solutions, San Diego, was tapped by The Walking Co. for a new brand campaign. D Zone Studio, Los Angeles, was selected to create a multimedia brand development and advertising campaign for California State Northridge's College of Extended Learning. The agency was also selected by Toyota Motor Sales USA to develop a virtual vehicle showroom. Exam Web LLC named Marshall Advertising and Design, Costa Mesa, as its agency of record. Acento Advertising, Los Angeles, opened a new office in Miami to better serve the Latin American market. Morgan Marketing & Public Relations was tapped for ad duties by Dockside Grill of West Covina. Dunk.net and University Access both chose BSMG Worldwide, Los Angeles, to handle their marketing. Planet Media, Los Angeles, was tapped by MedTrak Electronics, Manhattan Beach, to serve as its media agency. Enlace Communications, Brentwood, was chosen to create Arbol Media's Hispanic campaign. ON Marketing, Long Beach, was selected to handle the Hispanic ad account of Peter Piper Pizza, Scottsdale, Ariz. BDS Marketing, Irvine, and Frodyma On-Site, Anaheim, have formed a strategic alliance to expand BDS Marketing's capabilities and strengthen its presence in the Hispanic market. Point B, Newport Beach, was awarded the creative development of several Secure Horizons direct response TV spots. It has also been named agency of record for Nexell Therapeutics and Imagyn Medical Technologies. InterCommunicationsInc, Newport Beach, added 12 new clients to its roster, including New Cairo, a city being built in the Middle East by Al Futtaim Investments. Direct response marketing agency eComDriver has opened in Newport Beach. Grabiner/Hall, Los Angeles, was selected by PDQ Personnel Services to overhaul its corporate image. The Endeavor Agency, Los Angeles, has established a separate division, Endeavor Strategic Marketing, based in New York and Los Angeles. El Punto Advertising, Tustin, was tapped by Pillsbury for Hispanic campaigns. UTAH FJCandN in Salt Lake City created a campaign for the Workers Compensation Fund's push for company drug and alcohol policies. WASHINGTON McCann-Erickson, Seattle, and Attik, San Francisco, designed two 30-second TV spots for the Experience Music Project, opening in Seattle. McCann also created a new campaign for the Woodland Park Zoo and the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. EMB Partners, Seattle, acquired crosstown agency Hinton & Steel.
